The course is designed for people with little or no experience. Training is delivered in small groups and includes structured theory and practical elements.

Units of Competency
- TLILIC2005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)
- RIIHAN301D Operate a Elevating Work Platform
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type elevating work platform where the length of the boom is 11 metres or more.
Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these, used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated.
This unit requires a person operating a boom-type elevating work platform to plan the work, conduct routine checks, set up elevating work platform, operate elevating work platform, and shut down and secure elevating work platform.
On successful completion of this two (2) day course, all competent students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for RIIHAN301D Operate a Elevating Work Platform. A log book will be issued for students to record 60 hours of supervised operation.
On completion of the Log Book and Final Assessment day, a Statement of Attainment will be issued to all competent students for the TLILIC2005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more). All competent students of TLILIC2005 will be responsible to apply for their licence online with WHSQ. Successful applicants will receive an AS1 form and ‘Guidelines for making Application for a Qld High Risk Work Licence’.
