DESCRIPTION:Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card) \nCPCCWHS1001\n\n  \nThis unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to undertake occupational health and safety induction training within the Construction Industry. A White Card (or general construction induction card) is required for workers who want to carry out construction work.\n  \n\nIntroduction:\nCOURSE DETAILS\n\n\nDURATION: 6 Hours\nYEPPOON: $80\n  \n\nUNITS OF COMPETENCY\n\n\n\n	CPCCWHS1001  Prepare to work safely in the construction industry\n\n\n  \n\n\nCOURSE INFORMATION\n\n\n\n\n\nThis unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards\, understanding basic risk control measures\, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work. \n\nThis unit meets the general construction induction training requirements of: \n\n\n	- Part 1.1 Definitions and Part 6.5 of the Model Work Health and Safety Regulations;\n	- Division 11 of Part 3 of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 for Western Australia; and\n	- Division 3 of Part 5.1 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 for Victoria.\n\n\nIt is expected that site-specific induction training will be conducted prior to conducting construction work.\n  \n\n*From February 2019\, training for the white card must be undertaken face to face in Queensland. An exemption applies to allow candidates who reside further than 100 kilometres away from the nearest RTO delivering face to face white card training to complete the white card training via online delivery. \n\n  \n\nCERTIFICATE ISSUE\n\nOn successful completion of this course\, competent students will be issued a Statement of Attainment and a General Construction Industry Card. \n\n\nEVIDENCE OF IDENTITY REQUIREMENTS: \n\nTo attend training on the day you will need to provide sufficient Evidence of Identity documentation. Evidence of identity (EOI) documents must be made up of three matching original EOI documents.
