DESCRIPTION:Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card) \nCPCWHS1001\n\n  \nThis unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to undertake occupational health and safety induction training within the Construction Industry. A White Card (or general construction induction card) is required for workers who want to carry out construction work.\n  \n\nIntroduction:\nCOURSE DETAILS\n\n\nDURATION: 8 Hours\nYEPPOON: $120\n  \n\nUNITS OF COMPETENCY\n\n\n\n	CPCWHS1001  Prepare to work safely in the construction industry\n\n\n  \n\n\nCOURSE INFORMATION\n\n\n\n\n\nThis unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards\, understanding basic risk control measures\, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work. \n\nThis unit meets the general construction induction training requirements of: \n\n\n	- Part 1.1 Definitions and Part 6.5 of the Model Work Health and Safety Regulations;\n	- Division 11 of Part 3 of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 for Western Australia; and\n	- Division 3 of Part 5.1 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 for Victoria.\n\n\nIt is expected that site-specific induction training will be conducted prior to conducting construction work.\n  \n\n*From February 2019\, training for the white card must be undertaken face to face in Queensland. An exemption applies to allow candidates who reside further than 100 kilometres away from the nearest RTO delivering face to face white card training to complete the white card training via online delivery. \n\n  \n\nCERTIFICATE ISSUE\n\nOn successful completion of this course\, competent students will be issued a Statement of Attainment and a General Construction Industry Card. \n\n\nEVIDENCE OF IDENTITY REQUIREMENTS: \n\nTo attend training on the day you will need to provide sufficient Evidence of Identity documentation. Evidence of identity (EOI) documents must be made up of three matching original EOI documents. Please refer to Appendix 1 for acceptable ID. \n\n \n\nAPPENDIX 1\n\nEvidence of Identity Requirements – One category A   two category B OR Two category A   one category B \n\n*At least one category A document must be photographic and show a full name and date of birth (DOB). \n\nCategory A Documents \n\n\n	- Australian photo driver licence\n	- Australian Passport (including Australian Document of Identity)\n	- An Australian issued education institution student identity document (must include photo)\n	- An Australian issued Photo Identification Card (this has replaced the 18  card)\n	- Australian Birth Certificate – full (not an Extract or a Commemorative Certificate)\n	- Queensland High Risk Work licence (photographic)\n	- Australian Citizenship Certificate/Naturalisation Certificate\n	- Foreign Passport (with photo)\n	- Queensland or Federal police officer photo identity card.\n	- Bicentennial Birth Certificate (born in 1988)\n	- Queensland Accreditation/Authorisation (laminated)\n	- Driver/rider trainer; pilot/escort vehicle driver; dangerous goods driver; tow truck    driver/assistant certificate\n	- Bus; taxi; limousine driver\n	- DIBP – ImmiCard; Temporary or Resident Visa; Document for travel to Australia. Note: Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is not accepted\n	- Queensland Card 18  (laminated)\n\n\nCategory B documents – must be Australian issued documents \n\n\n	- Medicare card (Green\, Blue or Yellow)\n	- Education institution student identity document (without photo)\n	- Financial institution debit/credit card (must include signature and embossed/printed name)\n	- Australian Defence Force photo identity card (excluding civilians)\n	- Australian Firearm Licence (with photo)\n	- Australian Security Guard/Crowd Controller Licence (with photo)\n	- Department of Veterans’ Affairs/Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card (including Healthcare card)\n\n\nIn circumstances where an incarcerated person cannot provide the above specified identification\, the RTO should contact the Office of Industrial Relations for advice. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n  \n\nTarget Audience:\n \n\n\nLearning Outcomes:\n \n\n\nLearning Methods\n \n\n\nProgram Benefits:\n \n\n\nContent:\n \n\n  \nEnquire
