The TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment was superseded on the 6th of April 2016. The transition time to complete this qualification is 18 months. The newest release TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has the addition of two new units including TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy and TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools. Each RTO will need to reapply to ASQA to obtain the new qualification on it’s scope of registration.

Individuals that hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment at this time are able to continue delivering training in the workplace, organisation, TAFEs and RTOs since the 2015 Standards for RTOs state that the required qualification is the “TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or its successor.” It will be a requirement from April 2019 for all Trainer and Assessors to hold the new qualification. Skills Ministers agreed that trainers and assessors who do not hold the relevant units will have until 1 April 2019 to meet the new credential requirements to comply with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.
