The Blackwater International Coal Centre (BICC) and Coal Train Australia have launched an exciting partnership, The Blackwater Training Initiative.
Specialising in the resource sector, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Coal Train has an extensive scope that caters to mining, construction, business, hospitality, first aid, management, leadership and more.
“The opportunity to base ourselves within the Blackwater community, at a world class facility such as the BICC, is very exciting. We will have staff on the premises on a full time basis in addition to the specialist trainers we will bring to the region,” said Coal Train CEO Karla McPhail.
“We believe having an RTO at the BICC will be a huge asset to the Blackwater community. Coal Train offer an extensive scope and have a dynamic approach to training,” said BICC Manager Alison Noon.
BICC Board Member Ian Cooper added, “Having an RTO at the BICC, especially one with a strong resource industry background, builds on the original concept of the BICC as an education facility to train coal industry employees locally and to improve the opportunities for all based within the region.”
